A time and family manager at the thick of things.
Communicating, coordinating, prioritising, solving conflicts – as a project manager who puts her heart and soul into her job, I thrive on being at the scene of action. I adore my management role, involving lots of contact with colleagues, outside pharmaceutical companies and partners abroad –- especially seeing as at PARI, I am championing a really useful product with a guaranteed future.
Many people are surprised that, as a mother of two small children, I'm able to juggle so many balls at once. But I have no problem in combining job and family thanks to the flexitime programmes offered by PARI and the option of working from home if need be. I really appreciate my employer being so accommodating in this regard and thank the company by showing extra commitment to my job. If someone does you a good turn, you're happy to pay them back.
In my case this means pulling out all the stops when it's a question of developing nebulisers using specific drugs either produced in-house or from partners in the pharmaceutical sector. In particular, cooperation with well-known pharmaceutical companies offers a special challenge: I was once in charge of a project which involved developing a nebuliser using a drug provided by a pharmaceutical partner of ours for the indication of paediatric asthma. I'm currently coordinating work on a nebuliser specifically designed for premature babies in intensive care whose lungs aren't sufficiently developed.
And these are just a few examples of really interesting projects which I am managing from start to finish – projects that give me the opportunity to look far beyond my own nose.
